In the Harry Potter films, you played Amos Diggory, dad to Robert Pattinson’s character, Cedric. Did you enjoy that?
Well, that was a casting problem for the films, you see. They had to find someone as good-looking as Robert to play his father, so they said, “Let’s get Jeff Rawle”” Robert seemed happy enough to go along with it - he’s such a sweet boy and has gone on to have fantastic success. We spent a lot of time together on set, and had great fun.

US Magazine-Exclusive The British actor, 25, is prepping to record an album imminently, two sources tell Us Weekly.

“Rob has been kicking a few original songs around for a long time, but his schedule didn’t allow it,” one insider explains of the superstar, who recorded two songs, “Never Think” (which he co-wrote with pal Sam Bradley) and “Let Me Sign” for the original Twilight soundtrack.

“Now he’s got some weeks to get everything in line before going back to promoting Breaking Dawn.”

But don’t expect a chart-topping album with broad mass appeal and a string of top 40 hits. “The album Rob will make will be guitar-based and drums, very organic-sounding, nothing pop,” explains a second source of the indie-music fan, “Like stripped-down Ray LaMontagne meets Van Morrison.”

Pattinson frequently had hotel room jam sessions with other Twilight pals while shooting the flicks in Vancouver and elsewhere. His Twilight costar (and fellow musician) Jackson Rathbone said Kristen Stewart’s man “loves to play the blues. He can hold his own on a guitar. We enjoyed jamming together when we had the time. Very humble and quiet guy.

“Music is his first love!” says the second source. “He’s tortured because he avoids it. When he’s sitting around jamming in the studio, it’s his favorite moment of life.”

To prep for the recording session, the guitar player has been “studying on on other instruments — like piano and horns,” the first source reveals. “It’s an obsession for him.”

In the film (Water for Elephants), his character, Jacob, is very close to an elephant. You share with him his love for animals? 

Rob: I had a dog for 18 years, she was named Patty and I liked it, then, in Louisiana on the set of Breaking Dawn I adopted another puppy. I was “stuck” in Baton Rouge with a strong pace of filming was very good to have a four-legged companion. I saved him from a shelter that would put him down, I do not know what breed he is, but he is very affectionate. Having it with me in hotels really helped me not feel alone. How do you react to the fact that you are a famous sex symbol?  Rob: It’s fun and you expect that concerns you, though it is a result of the imagination. The only thing I can do for someone who appreciates my work is to try to do my best not to disappoint the expectations. I hope, however, be appreciated for what I am and not the character I play. I can not see myself in the shoes of a sex symbol especially because no one offered me Paapiú of “pretty boy” before Twilight. It’s funny how the world changes his mind about you and you are considered a whole new way. How much exercise is needed to play Edward?  Rob: In Breaking Dawn, I trained a lot, because it required a lot of shirtless scenes and I was so obsessed with fitness and healthy diet and so I went everywhere by bike to keep fit. Just when the shirtless scenes ended, I stopped and went back to normal. What makes you happy, besides work?  Rob: I always anima.Algum Play music while ago I was playing piano in New Orleans with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and I wondered: Why can not I do it again? It was wonderful. Blues I love unconditionally. You’re still writing songs?  Rob: I do not do it for a long time, but I keep trying. To write music you should be able to shut out the world and focus it on an ongoing basis, ie, for six months, but right now I can not give a long interval. And so I must be very sad and depressed to make decent songs (laughs). If one day I wake up in tears, then now is the time that I can find inspiration.
