The arts in 2012 - Life after Twilight and Harry Potter

Harry Potter has bitten the dust, the Twilight saga is nearing its end. While the movie industry gets used to the idea that two of its biggest cash cows do not give you more, 2012 marks the time when a handful of very rich and very famous actors, all in their teens and 20, comes off in the film world, to advance their careers, as they want.

Three of the most profitable on the planet names are graduates of Potter: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint. Other three are of Twilight: Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. Potter boys were locked in their time series, and have had to negotiate a very public adolescence.

Radcliffe is a bright boy of 22 years of age, and Watson an expert of 21 years of age, but the memory of the characters of apprentice wizards - will remain forever.

In a way, some have already taken their first steps. Radcliffe appeared in an indie film, Australia, December Boys, Stewart I play Joan Jett in a film about The Runaways Roker, and Watson had a small role in My Week with Marilyn.

But the serious business is to come. This year, Radcliffe plays the lead in the ghost story The Woman in Black (premiering Feb. 10), a senior film directed by James “Eden Lake” Watkin, with the script of Jane “Kick-Ass” Goldman. Watson, meanwhile, it appears that supposedly will have a role in the film co-produced by John Malkovich, The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Grint is not in the same group of high level, but that means you can take some risks in projects more sharp, and is currently signed to a biography of Eddie “the Eagle” Edwards.

The final installment of Twilight Breaking Dawn: Part 2 hits screens in November. Meanwhile, Stewart is super production of Snow White and the Hunter (which opens on June 1), an action twist to traditional story (a million miles away from the Gothic Twilight redesigned). Lautner - the cake from getting this saga’-like status, but last September Abduction was a failure, but used in Twilight earned money for a project of Gus Van Sant, who is still secret.

No doubt, Pattinson seems to be doing more interesting movements. At 25, is the oldest, and cut his teeth as Cedric Diggory in the Potter films. In the past has shown an inclination literary / artistic (I play Salvador Dali in his latest film Little Ashes pre-Twilight), and going that way next year, Bel Ami (released on 02 March), an adaptation of the Maupassant novel. Later this year we should be getting Cosmopolis, another literary adaptation (from the 2003 novel by Don DeLillo), showing a millionaire Pattinson trapped in a limo for 24 hours. The director is David Cronenberg, most likely it will be very special.

Jeff Rawle (Amos Diggory) Mentions Rob in an Interview

In the Harry Potter films, you played Amos Diggory, dad to Robert Pattinson’s character, Cedric. Did you enjoy that?
Well, that was a casting problem for the films, you see. They had to find someone as good-looking as Robert to play his father, so they said, “Let’s get Jeff Rawle”” Robert seemed happy enough to go along with it - he’s such a sweet boy and has gone on to have fantastic success. We spent a lot of time together on set, and had great fun.
Thanks To Robstenation.
